I have a 18" 1:7 SPR barrel coming from ADCO soon and it needs some glass.
However I did not want to spend $1000 like in the other post.

I was thinking of an IOR Tactical 6X42 ($500) or a Super Sniper SS10X42 ($300), or something I have not considered possibly.

Purpose of the rifle - a target shooting rifle to work on 69-77 grain bullets at a short range (not may options in my area). But I want (read: would like for the $$$) SHTF quality. I dont like to buy cheap the 1st time but I just got a job as an American history teacher and $$$ is a little tight right now.

Any option will be slapped in a LaRue 30mm SPR mount.

Thanks guys.

If you're working at shorter ranges then paralax adjustment may become more important. Just something to consider...

One option that I don't hear much about is Leupold MK4 PR series scopes. I have a 3.5-10 that was under $500.00, mine does not have the mil dot but it is available. It's a 1" tube but for short to medium range, extra elevation adjustments are not needed.

The scope is very bright and crystal clear, lifetime warranty, the adjustments are spot on and it's held up well on my LTR in .308. I did have another one with the mil dots but for my use the regular duplex works perfect.

Just a thought and if you already have a 30mm mount, I believe you can get inserts for 1" scopes.
