The difference between here and there, lies with the quality of answers moreso than the quality of the questions.

(And yes, my reply was worthless also :p)

Overall, the biggest benefit of the M16/FA bolt carrier group is that the added weight enables successful cycling of the forum search function ;)

You can use a FA carrier in your semi auto gun. Just don't buy any fire control group parts, or start trying to install an auto-sear and you're fine.

This has been covered enough to warrant it's placement in the Knowledge Base/FAQ in the Tech Section. I reccommend reading all the stickies and FAQs.

But that's just me.

However, this would require people to actually read the Knowledge Base/FAQ before asking!

And neither the tacked threads nor the search function ever seems too high on some peoples lists.

A Noveske N4 barrel is "Made of Mil Spec M249 Machine Gun barrel steel" does this too in your mind make it a "full auto part"? I think people are getting a little silly about the difference between a supposed F/A and S/A BC. The only difference is the full circle and basically that its a little more heavy duty and will conceivably take more abuse. Other than that, THERE IS NO FUNCTIONAL DIFFERENCE, it's just a name from where the design originally came from.
