I searched but did not find not find much. Does anyone use them? I see Magpul, Larue, Gear Sector, KAC, and I am sure others make them. Any preference?

Seriously? There are obsurd amounts of pics, comments, and input on her regarding handstops. If your using tapatalk like many, instead of using the search function, go to google, and type in "handstop m4carbine" and you will find what you need.
To add, I found over 10 pages of results for "handstop" via the search function of this site.
I have used the Larue hs in the past and was very happy with it but now I prefer a vertical grip.
I use the IWC versions on my SBR. One on the bottom to pull the rifle into my shoulder, and one on the left that serves two purposes. It gives me an index point for my support hand, keeping it from sliding past the muzzle. It also allows me to brace the rifle against cover or a barrier and lean into it. I even put skateboard tape on the front to give it some grip.

Same rifle with different muzzle device and paint:

I've been using a Magpul handstop for a while now, and it works pretty well, but it's a basic setup. Sawed-down vert grips are a good option if you want to roll your own.
