Just bought a G27. I really want to try the trijicon HD sights. I see that they have a standard package then some different height front sights available by themselves. What's the general consensus on the best for the G27?

(Please no recommendations of different sights.)

I can't speak to the 27, but I have them on my 19 and I just have the standard height HDs. They took maybe 50-100 rds to get used to, but once I did, I love them.

Trijicon HD's are good to go. Highly recommended.

Thanks guys.

On a related G 27 note, does anyone know if the glock + mag extensions add 1 or 2 to the standard 9 round mag? I've seen both and don't know what to believe. I emailed glock but they gave a high volume disclaimer so I have no idea when they will actually reply.

I've had great success with Pierce (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000EU02S6/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B000EU02S6&linkCode=as2&tag=reviews01f3-20) extensions and plus one magazine addons.

The OEM (+) plate (pn 7151) adds one round in 40 and 357 Auto, ten rounds total.

If you do this on a magazine that has been previously used (compressed through use) replace the springs.

Thanks. Certainly good advice but the baby is brand new all around. I appreciate the info from everyone.

Ok, another follow up regarding the sights. When you installed your front sight did you use any thread locker or just screw it together and go? I've seen a couple blog articles where various forms of locative are used. Pardon if the installation instructions answer this. The sights aren't here yet and I've got limited time to get them installed and to the range for quals. Just want to make sure I've got everything I need.

Yes, you should use blue loctite on the front sight screw.

I put blue loctite on front and rear when I installed my Big Dots. My next set will be the HD's.

Degrease the front sight screw and threads thoroughly (important) and use a drop of blue loctite.

HD's are great sights. I recently switched to 10-8 sights on my Gen 4 G22 duty pistol and my off duty Gen4 G27. Best upgrade I have ever made. I USE to run the HD's on all my glocks. I simply shoot better with 10-8 sights
