I went to install my Hackathorn sight kit on my Gen4 G19 a couple nights ago and realized I had a spare 10-8 Sight laying around. I like bright front sights and usually go with Brass or Gold front posts. Wanted to try out the Hackathorn sights but the rear's really wide notch turned me off. I slapped on my 10-8 rear and its alot tighter but I had no issues with some dry fire drills I did that night.

My concern is whether the front sight is the proper height? I'll be going to the range hopefully sometime this week or weekend to try it out but was curious if anyone had any measurements. I lent out my calipers so couldn't take any measurements.

And because everyone loves pictures:

I believe that 10-8 rears, like Heinie, Warren Tactical, etc., are meant to be paired with front sights in the .215 - .245 height range (depending on pistol and desired poa/poi). Ameriglo hack front sights are .165 in height if I remember correctly.

I'd advise either using an Ameriglo rear or switching to an appropriate height front sight.

I have that setup with the 10-8 rear but with the Ameriglo .220 height Pro Glo front sight. It works very well and POI is dead on at 25 yards.

I have the 10-8 rear and Hackathorn front on my Glock 17. The Hackathorn fronts come in different heights, mine is .220. Give Ameriglo customer service a call. The are very helpful. 10-8 recommends a minimum height of .215 on the front sight for Glocks to be used with their U-notch rear. I like this combo a lot!!

I installed my Hack rear on my G19 last night. Its a pretty good sight picture as well. Some drills this weekend will show whether its staying on the pistol or If im gonna put the 10-8 rear back on and order some brass front sights for my other glocks.
