Picking up a TA01-NSN ACOG that was manufactured in 2007. How many more years should I expect the tritium to last, and how much should I expect to pay to replace it when the time comes? (If it's even worth replacing.)

half life is approx. ten years, so tritium brightness will diminish by half around every ten years.

I read trijicon quotes over $500 to recharge new tritium. Not worth it to me.

Yikes! Meh, don't really need a night lit reticule on this rifle, so it will do fine, even after the tritium is dead and gone.

The half life of tritium is 12-15 years. FWIW, my ACOG is a 2002 and the tritium is still going strong.

That makes me feel a lot better. Thanks for the anecdote.

OK, I looked it up.

While tritium has several different experimentally determined values of its half-life, the National Institute of Standards and Technology lists 4,500±8 days (approximately 12.32 years)

Actually, the brightness has diminished by half since it was manuf. 12 years ago.
