This thread follows up on a previous post question. I hope someone will find it of some value since there really isn't much load data for AR-Comp floating around.
Using Hornady start and max data for 55 gr bullets (BT), I worked up 4 powder charges of AR-Comp to test with mixed brass and CCI SR primers. (FWIW, Alliant lists higher start and max loads than Hornady.) My rifle is a 16" barrel Colt. Off the bench, my most accurate load at 100 yds. was 22.6 gr (actually 0.1 below Hornady's recommended start load) and second most accurate was 24.5 gr (0.3 below max). The two 'tween loads were far less accurate. Sorry, but I have no chrono for these loads. I'll work on these loads a little and move up to the 69 gr SMK next.
For those of you that are in a position of buying what is available, this Alliant powder may not be a bad option if you run across some. It looks like it might work fine for me.
