It’s been an unhappy collision between a British television personality who refuses to assimilate — the only football he cares about is round and his lectures on guns were rife with contempt — and a CNN audience that is intrinsically provincial. After all, the people who tune into a cable news network are, by their nature, deeply interested in America.

CNN’s president, Jeffrey Zucker, has other problems, but none bigger than Mr. Morgan and his plum 9 p.m. time slot. Mr. Morgan said last week that he and Mr. Zucker had been talking about the show’s failure to connect and had decided to pull the plug, probably in March.

Since he is out of a job does that mean they revoke his visa? We can only hope!

Don't let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya, Piers.

I have to work in the morning, but this called for a tasty beverage. The Balcones tastes just a little bit better tonight. ;)

I expect him to be a contributor there for some time to come. I'm not psychic, the article said as much.

Very interesting that he credits his anti-gun stance as being problematic for his show.

The only surprise for me was why they waited so long. It was obvious from the start.

Glad to see this finally happening. The world will once again be in balance if his visa is revoked and he returns to the UK so Clarkson can set him on fire on a Top Gear special.

And drop a piano on him.

From the UK Daily Mail"

Round nine: December 2012
In the wake of the shooting of 20 schoolchildren and six staff members at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, Morgan calls for a gun ban.
Outraged by this slur on their constitutional right under the Second Amendment to blast each other to smithereens, more than 100,000 Americans sign a petition calling for his deportation.
Clarkson is appalled, and at 1.27pm on Christmas Eve, he interrupts his family celebrations to tweet: ‘Americans. It took us 40 years to get rid of Piers Morgan. Please don’t send him back.’
Having reignited a more-or-less dormant feud, Clarkson tweets again: ‘Americans. Was the second amendment not introduced to protect you from the tyranny of the British? Piers Morgan in other words.’
Then, apparently having encouraged America to use deadly weapons against Morgan, he toddles off to enjoy the rest of his Christmas.

I'm going to try my ever loving hardest to write a bestseller, or do something to make me famous so i can appear on the show, drive around the track with The Stig, and firmly shake Clarkson's hand.

The problem with pretty much everyone on that network is that they can't help themselves when the opportunity to inject their liberal bias presents itself...

Ted's comments were quite crass. I'm guessing that if he could have them back, he might just go for it. That said, I have to respect the fact that he will stand behind his ardent assertion that the president is the most dangerous person in the US when it comes to constitutional liberties.

Back on topic, I wonder when ol' Pier's work VISA expires?

For you Top Gear fans tonight's intro for the Stig went like this:

Some say that if he had hair it would be shaped like a hat. And that if he worked for CNN he wouldn't get such pitiful ratings and his show cancelled....all we know is, he's called the Stig!

Well played Mr. Clarkson, well played....

When the ass hole signed off, he took another shot at the NRA and gun owners (of course I didn't watch, just read the article on Drudge):

But that’s where guns belong – on a military battlefield, in the hands of highly trained men and women fighting for democracy and freedom. Not in the hands of civilians. The scourge of gun violence is a disease that now infects every aspect of American life.

Belloc, Your post of the civilians in Warsaw reminded me of this photo gallery that was on Time's website. Piers and his brethren should pay attention to photos 1,4,5,12 as a reminder of the evil that men do upon their own people even in these modern, "civilized" times. They should also pay attention to photos 2,6,7,13 also a reminder of the need for "civilians" to have arms when they are forced to fight back lest they themselves be subjected to tyranny and outright genocide.
