I have an old 12" La Rue handguard that does not have QD sockets and it has the old style barrel nut and anti-rotation bolts.
Are these old rails as tough as the newer ones? Would it be better to use the newer mounting hardware (I have a set) with the threaded ring and new barrel nut?
Any input on the old Gen 1 handguards vs the new ones is appreciated.
