Has anyone had any experience with this knife?
I don't own one yet, but have hands on time with one. My takeaways:
- great grip ergonomics for utilitarian purposes. Feels great in the hand, more filling than expected. Great with or without gloves.
- next to zero guard to prevent hand slide with hard thrusting/stabbing. I think the ESEE 5 is a superior tactical option for this reason.
- 3/16" of 1095 and a 5" blade makes for a surprisingly useful chopper. Set up a lanyard so you can drop your hand lower on the grip, and you 're off to the races.
- very usable finger choil. That and the grip ergos make it very natural to choke up on and easy to control.
I think it's a very good option for a specifically purposed utility blade. I am a fan. For an all purpose survival/tactical blade, I would probably go with an ESEE 5 over the LS, but either works great for non-tactical use.
Then again, I'm not LE, military, or mall security, so I'm not an expert on tactical blades :)
If you don't carry it every day, it's not every day carry.
