View Full Version : EOTech EXPS2-0 float
Maybe I am thinking about this to much, but...
When sighting in my eotech must I
Align the bottom 1/3 with the FSP every time like so?

Or should I sight in my irons and then totally ignore my FSP while sighting in the eotech ?
I feel like I get a lot of float trying to align the recticle with FSP every time thus slowing me down big time.
Obviously cheek weld plus a role, maybe I am focusing or looking at it wrong? Yes both eyes are open.
Sorry for the ignorance just new to eotechs and RDS in general.
Thanks
Use each set of sights independent of the other.

Sight in your irons first. The. Get a rough sight in in the eotech by sighting through your irons and adjusting the eotech so the dot is resting on the top of your front sight post. Then you can fold your sights down and finish fine tuning your eotech. The lower 1/3 co-witness won't matter. If you look through your sights you should see the dot on or just over your front sight post. If you look over your sights you will see the reticle by itself.

Alright thanks, so for proper POI I need to realign back to the "lollipop"after every engagement ?
No, when using the Eotech, completely IGNORE your iron sights.

I've gotten away from co-witnessing, just sight in each set. I found my optic is dead on but sits a little left and high of my front sight.

It also depends on the version, some Eotechs are setup to co witness, others like the EXPS are 1/3. Either way, ignore the irons when using the optic.

Ya thanks guys. I was just unsure if I had to realign with the front post each time. I've since put about 500 rds through the eotech and absolutely love the thing.
