View Full Version : Question on the sigs

I have a question that has always been on my mind when handling any sig saur pistol. I have a sig mosquito and I know how that shoots and feels (I know it's not a direct comparison). But the past few times I've held a sig (a 226 and 229) I've noticed how lightly the hammer seems to fall.

Comparing the most similar pistol I have (m9) to the 226 the difference to me is night and day. The m9 falling fast and hard and the sig seems to fall lightly. I have no way of knowing if they truly do or not though. So my point to asking this is, is that how they are or is there just something wrong with the two I've held. I am liking the 226 but it just feels too much like my mosquito.

Thank you for any information on this.

I think I know what you mean, and no, it's not anything odd, just Sig.

Ok so I'm not the only one. But as long and it works I'd be OK with it. Now I just need to find a guy at my range who has one and that I can shoot and see how it feels. I also like the m11 (228??). But that's all off of looks. I haven't had any experience with the sigs other than the .22.

Hopefully when I get the chance to shoot one it feels as good as the beretta does.

I never noticed much of a difference between my Sigs, Beretta, and HKs.

it's not falling lightly, it's just rebounding. check your primer strikes and you'll see it is hitting with as much force as any other...

That would explain the feel then if I think about it. I don't own a Sig other than the .22. I am looking into purchasing one though.

The 228/229 never felt right in my hand. The 226 is just right.
