I finally found some wooden grips for my 6" 686 plus. I think I'm going with smith and seasons wood grips with the logo. I also need a holster. I found a desantis holster that looks like a pancake. A gun store owner told me a pancake won't work and I'd need a Wild West type holster. It's the L frame as described by SWs website. Any recommendations?

I have a Kramer horsehide pancake for my 586 L Comp. Very nice, high ride holster.

I have one of these (5JR) for my 625 and it's great! Oddly the Dillon site doesn't show the wheel guns but the print catalog I am holding from the mail does. If they no longer carry it, the yet them from Mitch Rosen and his website shows the same $75 prove tag.

Another option though not technically a pancake.

This might work. I have it for the G17 and have no gripes.

Bit of a jump in price but his quality is 2nd to none.

I have a 686 plus in 3 inch.
Some really good custom holster makers out there. Not much more than the off the shelf stuff, and it fits perfect.
Try Ryan Grizzle or Zack Davis or Lobo Leather. All pretty reasonable and quick.
