View Full Version : surefire sr tapeswitch use
All of them I see look to be on backwards with the push button toward the receiver vs. The muzzle. Why are people running g them backwards?
Not enough cable to run it in the other direction?

It takes 1/3 the cable to run it the way I'm saying.
Just to make sure we are talking about the same thing I am providing pictures as an example.

Exactly, vs: http://www.gandrtactical.com/images/archive/SF/M600C_Mounted.jpg using a 2" cord instead of the long one of course.

This is configured correctly.
You want the constant on out of the way, as it's less likely to be used, and more ergonomic to access towards the muzzle.
WS6, there's two separate buttons, the momentary (pressure pad) & the on/off (raised button). Personal preference, but for me, the momentary pressure pad should be more accessible.

I didn't know there was an actual way to place it, but mine is placed where it is most comfortable and accessible for me which is with the constant button towards the receiver.

That was my first thoughts, was not aware there was a right or wrong way to run it. Everyone I know who runs one has it with the constant on button towards the receiver. I have one on my to buy list for my Scout light, and will likely mount the switch at 12 O'clock with the constant on switch towards receiver since it is more comfortable for me, which is all that should matter from a user stand point.
My placement is based on having the easiest most ergonomically simple access possible.
So in my case the pressure pad faces forward while the permanent on/off switch is to the rear by the receiver.
I have a FSB and a midlength rail. I want my hand as far forward as possible. The constant on/off button plus the cord base would cost me an inch or so.

I am confused slightly. Am assuming you mean if you ran the constant on button forward?

Yes. Button forward
Yes. Button forward
Roger that. Wasn't sure even though I figured that was the case.
