After reading platoonDaddy's post about the background info behind the music piece "Il Silenzio", I did a Google search on American Military Cemeteries overseas. Came across the ABMC website. As I've gotten older, I don't give as much credit to government agencies as I have in the past. This one though get's my utmost admiration and respect for the job they do for our fallen warriors that are interred on foreign soil.

If you have the time, read about the twenty four cemeteries located overseas. I looked at the photos attached to each cemetery and was overwhelmed by the unique layout of the grounds, the beautiful landscaping, and the splendid architecture of each memorial building(s). The grounds truly pay a solemn and respectful tribute to the fallen.

Someday when I retire, I would like to go to France, Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg, to see for myself some of these hallowed grounds. Any members here ever traveled to the European Continent and seen some of these cemeteries? Your impressions, likes or dislikes.
