Well after 10 years and many many hours of training with and shooting the G19, I purchased an M&P9. I really like the ergonomics of the pistol as well as the Glock LIKE trigger that I am so accustomed to. Maybe I got lucky but I cant seem to see why a trigger job would be needed on the pistol. Mine has no trigger lock or mag disconnect. I would like a little harder reset, maybe that can be had from a pistolsmith. I should have looked into these sooner. I will need a new rear sight as my almost 50 year old eyes do not work well with the 3 dot system. Heinie maybe?

I prefer the Warren, but everybody's eyes are different.

The triggers on later production M&Ps seem to be much improved over what the first ones I tried were like. They also tend to get a bit better after several hundred rounds all on their own.

If someone is accustomed to a nice 1911 trigger, they may well find that they struggle a bit with a stock M&P trigger and would want a trigger job to help deal with that. Somebody who is used to stock Glock triggers will probably share your sentiments.

I just colored over mine with a Sharpie. Now it is a one-dot system. The trigger takes some time to get used to, but I think it actually breaks cleaner than a Glock once you have mastered it.

I highly recommend a Warren rear sight.

Thanks gotm4, I'll look into ordering Warren sights, and a Sharpie until they arrive. I guess it's a no brainer using the coupon for 2 extra mags instead of $30.

Can someone point me in the right direction. I want a Warren rear sight with a tritium front sight. Are there any special installation tools needed?

The MGW made S&W sight tool makes it easy.........it's a $150 tool. If you're doing 1 set not really worth it. If you do dozens of pairs a month it's a no-brainer.

I like the 10-8 and Bowie rears also.

You can get the MGW sight tool at Top Gun Supply for $110.
But that is still a chunck of money for just one use.

I like that Bowie/Ameriglo combo!

I'm going to get those sites for my next M&P.

I recommend the Warren rear with an Ameriglo .125 tritium front. I am waiting for Warren to release the rear with single tritium dot. Heard they will be out soon.

Well, now I own 2 M&P9's. A friend needed dough so I helped him out and bought his. Comp-Tac belt holster and 4 mag pouch's on the way along with Warren rear sights, 1 Ameriglo tritium and 1) red hiviz front sight. Thanks for all the help.
