View Full Version : Multi Caliber BUFFER Choice?

I have an MRP upper, and LMT lower, and the buffer that came in this LMT lower, has NO markings on it.
I have BEEN TOLD, that this is a "STANDARD" buffer.

I have also been told that there are FOUR buffer types as listed below, and I have also been told LMT marks them as follows:

1. Standard (Standard LMT buffers have NO markings)
2. "H" (Heavy, and marked with "H" on the LMT buffer face)
3. "H2" (marked with "H2" on buffer face

4. H3 (apparently LMT does NOT mark them, and they are smooth/unmarked on the face of the buffer)

So, IF this is all true,
Then I would ASSUME I have a STANDARD, unmarked buffer that came with my LMT lower.
I am running an MRP, with a midlength 16" 5.56 bbl, AND with a carbine length 16" 6.8 bbl.

I would like to know what would be the best buffers to try out that would work with both of the above calibers I am running?
Will the STANDARD buffer be GTG, or could I/should I swap to an "H" buffer?

Remember, I'm running a 16" MIDLENGTH 5.56 bbl, AND a 16" CARBINE LENGTH 6.8 bbl.
Thanks so much guys.
