View Full Version : Pistol ID
Hey all, could anyone please identify the pistols displayed in the photograph on this link from an attack in Kabul last night? Thank you in advance.

I would start my search by trying to figure out what kinds of cartridges are lying on the table. I would've guessed that they were .380s or .32s of some sort but look at the case lengths - maybe .38 Super, 9x23 Winchester, 9x23 Steyr or 9x23 Largo? Probably some Euro Saturday night specials or something.

middle left looks like a beretta tomcat because of the lever
edit: I take that back. the lever would be one of the few things it has in common with a tomcat

Beretta Minx .22
Thanks for that RWH24 and Inkslinger. Some initial reports stated that pistols chambered in .25 ACP were used. The new pic and the Beretta Minx .22 clears things up.
They look like Astra Firecats and Cubs, or copies of them to me.

If they reported .25, it would be the Beretta Jetfire. The Jetfire and Minx look almost identical.
Thanks CAR for the Astra reference. Looks like a mix then of .25 and .22 used with the Firecats and Cubs.
Looks like 32ACP (7.65 Para) to me.
Looks like they have been bought and sold out of the back of a Camel several times for along time!
I hope that's what they all are carrying over there.
I wish that were the case. AK's and suicide vests is the usual norm here for attacks like this.
