Today My brother(by friendship) Jake left for Iraq as part of a Marine Scout Sniper Platoon, please pray for his safe return and all others that are serving our country and keeping you and your family free. He has already been to Afghanistan and is now on his way to serve his country and protect our freedom in Iraq. He used to work at a large bank and would probably be a manager by now but he felt that he needed to protect his country and joined the U.S.M.C. Here is something he wrote to all his friends and family yesterday and I felt that since I am asking you to have him in your thoughts you should also read it:
to all of my friends and family, this applies. it is quite fitting that i am leaving for iraq on 9/11, well technically i am "leaving" on 9/12 but it is like one in the morning so to me it still counts as 9/11. it is my turn, again, to do what i promised all of you and my country to do, be prepared to give my life for your freedoms. wait, maybe i should rephrase that. i am prepared to take a whole lot of terrorist cocksuckers lives for your freedoms. but if for unfortunate reason something happens just know that i love you all and am always thinking about you. all of you made me the marine i am today and i would have to say i am a pretty damn good one because of it. anyway, if all of you can write to me as much as possible, that would be great. i know you guys are thinking it is not that big of a deal getting an email but out there it means the world. it is like having a little piece of home. knowing that your family and friends love you keeps the motivation flowing. so until we meet again we will keep in touch and before all of us know it, i will be back in the garage mini bar with everyone there and we will celebrate by drinking much alcohol.
