While I always had a fancy for the AK-47 I never really jumped into that platform because I was having too much fun with my lite recoiling AR's, but my interest has turned to the AK since the cost of AR ammunition has doubled in price over the last few years and I can now buy two cases of the excellent 8M3 expanding 7.62x39 loading for what a single case of Federal M-193 is going for in todays market. So that said the wife has also switched over to the AK but has found that the recoil of the 7.62x39 in her Yugo AK is a bit more then she liked so I now have to make adjustments to were to AK's recoil is tamed just a bit for her shooting enjoyment. So first I decided to attach one of those recoil reducing spring loaded stocks which has a nice soft recoil pad and that helped a good bit but I was wondering if a muzzle device which reduces recoil and a bit and maybe some muzzle flash would a good addition also.

Now a true muzzle brake has its draw backs with blast and noise but it does the best job at reducing recoil but I was thinking maybe some type of Hybrid break could help tame the muzzle a bit, reduce flash and hopefully avoid flame roasting the shooters in the next lane.

Suggestions?

For Kalashnikov variants with a 14x1 left hand thread pitch, these are the two main contenders.

I had an FSC47 on my SAR 1 before I sold it. I found it to be a very effective brake and to be a vastly superior flag hider as compared to a 74 style brake. Much less concussion too.

Im looking at flash suppression first, braking second on my draco. Anyone try these? Look like a good birdcage that may reduce recoil a bit,

I've run a FSC47 and this style: http://www.cncwarrior.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=21621

And it's hard to tell the difference. Flash and muzzle rise.

The A2 is $10. The FSC47 is $95. I like the look of the FSC47 but it's hard to justify the price difference.

Agreed. Unless you go pretty fancy (AKBC) or something similar, there's just not enough performance difference imho to justify anything other than the A2 that either CNCW or Krebs offers.
