Great speech:

NJ Assemblyman Michael Patrick Carroll gives amazing floor speech in opposition to legislation banning magazines over ten rounds. This took place at the New Jersey Assembly Chamber in Trenton, NJ on March 20th, 2014.

Very good speech. Too bad no one was paying attention.
I was in NJ teaching a class that day and this issue came up. The law they are trying to pass will make NJ law enforcement officers felons as soon as they leave the office and drive home. Although I believe that LE should have no more freedom as citizens, this just proves that the laws that are being written have no thought into them other than an anti gun agenda purely because it is what the left wants.

Maybe law enforcement around the country should tell the left wing politicians they will no longer protect them

But...but I thought everyone in NJ either hates guns or is simply weak because they live there.

It is a good point but we are sworn to protect and serve without bias. However; we are also sworn to uphold the constitution.

I agree no one is paying attention, especially on the other side of the aisle.

So if an officer is off duty and heading home with his issued weapon he is breaking the law. How friggin stupid, even for Jersey!

Let's say the officer is issued a Glock 17 and has an off duty Glock 19. If he carries his issued 17 round mag with the 19........... Felony

Legistlation-wise, NJ is one of the most absurd states in the US.

Luckily, the relative narrow shape of the State and its long border with the free State of PA make it one of the easier states to emmigrate from and I encourage anyone there to do so.

Better yet, since most residents either identify with NYC or Philly just split it up and give S Jersey to PA and the North to the socialists in NY State. Then maybe I would be able to one day own a beach house Avalon, etc and afford the taxes.

Yeah the Constitution, they don't even know what that is, or if they do its "out dated"

Appreciated Magic. That man was well spoken and represents more of us here than many know, just not enough sadly. Wasn't aware of him until today but will have to send a letter of encouragement for his efforts.

I live in the western Philly suburbs and really never noticed that. Definately in NE PA though.

I would imagine though the emmigrants may be more of a conservative nature fleeing high taxes and the Nanny staters

No one said that. The issue is people in states like NJ, NY, IL, MA et al get ruled by big city liberals and the minority conservative types don't stand a chance. The legislature appoints the judges with a farce of a nomination and you'll never stand a chance in state court once you're a permanent minority on the shit list. Unless you're independently wealthy to the tune of millions or get sponsored for Bono case they'll lock you up without thinking twice.
