Opinion on the Leopold Mark 2 3-9x40mm T2 Riflescope

I have on layaway a REMINGTON 700 SPS TACTICAL .223 and want to get a good scope. I can't aford a super highdollar scope but I have my eyes on the Mark 2 3-9x40mm T2 Riflescope in milldot. My first question is that is this the Mark 2 series new and has anyone tried it or has it and can give me there opinion of its quality. Also What are the best rings for it that wont bust my bank and keep with the whole big bad black gun theme?

The Mark 2 series is really just vx-2 glass in a tactical tube at a higher price. Given that, I'd look closer at a vx-3 for about the same price it is much better glass. Not as "tacticool" but.......

Yeah I was looking at the VX-3 but you cant get them in Mildot
I still havent made up my mind and I do have a VariIII Duplex but really want to go with the mildot

If you go with a duplex ret, take a hard look at the Leupold European (has a 30mm tube)
