I am in need of a new duty weapon and I have decided on the HK 45 but I have an issue. I can't seem to find any level 3 duty holsters for the HK45 w/ surefire x300 attached. Does anyone here carry the 45 on duty and if so what holster do you use. Any help is greatly appreciated.

A little but of back story my issued glock 21 failed me and I will NEVER carry another glock 45. ( I can't discuss the specifics but I will say it could have ended real bad for me and thankfully all is ok. Just another reason why I always carry a BUG.)
I have been carrying a 1911 since my glock failed but have decided I really don't want to beat up a 3k 1911 on duty everyday.

I have found a level 2 holster but I can't find a level 3.
Anyone know if one is made?

what holster have you currently found? The 6280 SLS safariland (part number 3930) with the hood protector and tension screw adjusted is level 4.

Try a P30L holster.

Try a P30L holster.

This. It's my understanding that Safariland makes a level 3 light holster for the P30l and it fits the HK45. Call Safariland direct, they are very helpful.

The P30 holsters only work if you have a LEM HK 45...

definitely just give Safariland a call, they can hook you up. That's all I have ever used on duty or that was approved by the departments I have worked for. I have never had an issue with their products. and I can only recall one officer ever having a problem and that was due to him not checking the screws on the holster every once in awhile.

Thanks for all the help.
One other question- What type of closed top mag pouch will work with the HK45?
I called safariland and the lady wasn't sure they made one. Said she would look into it and get back to me next week.

Safariland 6280-3930-131 is what I have. It's Level 2, but if you add a hood, you're Level 3. I use mine for a P30L with X300, but the tag on the bag it came in says "HK45 Cocked and Locked w/X300".

Do you carry it Cocked and locked? Or decocked safety on?

In my earlier post, I think I meant to say hood guard. My holster already has a rotating hood that makes it Level 2. I believe the hood guard would make it Level 3.

COLT6933, in answer to your question, neither. My P30L is LEM, but I can see that the hood height would permit cocked and locked. I've heard that "shorter" hoods could be installed, which I'd like to do, since my hood has a gap above the trigger about 0.5 inches higher than I'd like.
