Question re: KAC M5 RAS

I just received this back and am wondering if the Rear Clamp Screw Retainer is supposed to be inside the rail rather than outside.

Can anyone tell me the answer?

Thank you-----I have never seen that piece set up like that in any of the photos of the KAC M5 RAS that I have seen.

Photo is from the smith that installed the rail....

The older KACs don't have the retainer clip... so the screw would inevitably get lost.

100% correct rail. The clip retains the rear screw, and is on the outside of the rail.
