This think looks very much like an AR meets 870, complete with crossbolt safety. Apparently it uses a shortened carrier and an angled link to work with the stock angle. Anyone seen this? Could be the best looking option for those in communist states.

Looks kinda like a Keltec SU-16 that takes AR handguards.

It takes AR uppers!

I want to see the buffer system up close but it looks like a good design on the outside. Could be a handy little setup with a shorty upper on it.

As much as it looks like an inbred love child, I hope this turns out to be a quality lower option.

It would be great, as the OP mentioned, for those in states who don't believe in pistol grips. In CA, having this would allow you to have removable mags without bullet button. As far as use goes, it wouldn't be any more awkward than the grip angle of an M1A. And using different uppers would make it more accurate than the Mini-14.

I'm curious about the buffer though. If any upper works on this, I imagine it will beat the hell out of the upper trying to change angles like that so quickly.

I can't wait for one. I fondled a prototype a few years ago at SHOT. It felt pretty handy.

The lower looks completely redesigned. I hope it does take actual 870 stocks, the magpul 870 stock might look good.

You won't be using an 870 stock.. No place for the spring. Maybe an 1100 stock. I wish I would have thought of it first. The action spring is probably set up just like all semi shotguns. GH

No doubt geared for my shit hole state. Probably the best option we have here. Still sad to see.

It was a good idea to cut the magwell as high as possible so 10 rd mags can actually be stripped out by hand.

But as it's obviously geared towards an AWB state, it's kind of ironic that they're showing it off with an SBR upper.

Why make an AR into something it's not. If you want a normal stock'd rifle, get a Ruger Mini14, Saiga, or the few other "tactical" options out there.. If you want an AR, get an AR. That is just IMO however.

Because the AR upper is a better choice than a Mini-14 or Saiga. If I were stuck in the PRK, I'd get one of these lowers most rikitik and laugh all the way out to my favorite shooting spot. I wish they had used a flatter angle for the comb

Here's the patent for the actual operating system:

How do you operate the charging handle without removing your firing grip?

1. AKs have pistol grips.
2. AKs have charging handles on the side of the rifle.
3. This has neither. Is there a point you're trying to make that I'm missing?

I really like the design, and for those in ban states it looks like an awesome way to stick it to the man. I don't, however, see how quick immediate/remedial action would be performed given the ergonomics. I like that the video conveniently left out the charging handle operation.

That is a solid point. Maybe an ambi charging handle & train strong hand. The better idea would by a side charging upper like 2Vets Arms puts out.

Also by putting the trigger farther back, it doesn't look like most fingers could reach the mag release without changing their grip.

Eta: it doesn't look like the 2VA bcg would work with the SCR lower.
