I just pick one of these up in 9mm at my local FFL I couldn't pass up the price. Just curious what your guys thought on this pistol are ,pros/cons. I saw some reviews on YouTube everyone seemed to love this pistol.

I've heard a lot if good things about them! Academy sports store had them for $399 a while back but price has gone back up since. I have considered buying one as most of the people who have one say they are accurate and easy to carry concealed. YMMV

Grunt Out!

The only con I can see for it is the mag prices

They are wonderful pistols for the price. Ergos are good. Accuracy is good. Trigger pull isn't bad.

Holsters and other accessories aren't the easiest to locate.

I have one and like it, at this price-point.

Palmetto State Armory sells them for $389 from time to time.

I'm a fan. I've owned many different gun brands, gun models, and action types and the SP2022 is the gun that produces the best results for me time and time again. The lack of support gear that was a turn off for some people is dwindling, most of the custom holster makers out there make gear for them now and mags can be bought all day long for $30 a pop. Sights for the classic P series guns fit the Pro as a bonus.

Sig finally woke up the quiet popularity of this model and is advertising them a little. I guess you know Sig will support it when they decide to finish it FDE.....

I really like mine a lot and have found more holster options in the last several months.

I don't have many cons but one difference you'll notice if you are used to the typical P-series Sig is the decocker. On the 2022, once it decocks, the lever pushes back upward. Once decocked, you will notice that the lever does not move. This push bask may feel weird to those experienced with Sigs and using the 2022 for the first time.

As for mags, buy the Mec-Gar 17 rounders for $10 less than the Sig factory 15 round mags.

I guess when your whole business is based on selling a flagship handgun at $700 and up, then selling another similar-capability handgun for only ~ $400 is a bit...awkward.

I don't think that is true. Look at Springfield and others selling lower cost 1911s.....

I currently own a 2022 and have previously owned Glocks and M&Ps and believe that the 2022 is the best of the bunch. By that I mean fit, finish, and feel are better. I remain a big proponent of Glock (less so the M&P) but the 2022 has a better feel to it; more solid and less slide slop if you will. Accuracy is outstanding as well.

I picked up one in 9mm a few months ago for $419.00. They are Sig accurate and conceal carry well. Also, the lightest of the Sig pistols. Fit and finish are outstanding. This were originally made for the French National Police for a contract that runs out in 2022.

I have a two-tone 2022 that I bought for $389 (including night sights)plus shipping from Palmetto State Armory. I've put roughly 250 rounds of 115 grain brass Blazer and aluminum Blazer. No problems yet. Slow fire at 15 yards - sights dead on. I also like the grip texture.

If you have been considering it, bud's has them on sale....$399 with night sights. I may need a second....LINK (http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/1089/products_id/90475/TEAM+BUDS+FAST+TRACK)

The funny thing is about 2-3 years ago the SP2022 was due to be discontinued as SIG released the P250 with more options...

And of course the P250 flop was rather epic and the SP2022 had a good cult following which has increased.

I don't own one but for a polymer DA/SA 9MM they are a great option for people who want that and at <$400 a great option.

As with all SIG mags, if you can get the Mecgar brand you'll save $$$ and usually get 2-3 extra rounds (Mecgar is OEM for SIG as well, but they sell separately as well).

IMHO the SP2022 is a best buy.
