Just wanted to take a second and comment on the UBR. You guys have done a fantastic job with this stock and it was worth the wait!

Kind words are always nice to hear. We have heard a lot shit over the last two plus years about delays. Now the wait is over and perfection is here. Good things take time. Thanks Grant.
I always really wanted one of the M93 stocks, but never had the money and motivation to get ahold of one. By the time I could have gotten one, the UBR was on the way and I've been waiting since. I'm glad it to see it available...
Now I just need an OD one ;)
I don't have as fancy a rig as Grant but I share his sentiment 100%...
The UBR looks well built, rock solid, and I'm sure it will be a hell of a performer...
I received mine from G&R (thanks Grant !!!) a day ago and it is now mounted on my rifle. The install was relatively easy other than torquing the buffer tube but that was mainly due to it being my first time doing one...
Range report to follow soon...
Anyhow, excellent job MAGPUL ! The UBR delivers the goods big time...

Anyone have an ETA on the next shipment of black UBR's???? We're dying to know!
A couple people were commenting that dealers had received a "few" UBRs recently.

Doesn't look like they sold. eBay offered me up a bunch of similar items from others at lower prices.
I got 5 in a while back and they all sold in 1 day

So, does this mean that you have some to sell, or are you just showing that you are cooloer than us? :D
I'm dying to gey one of these, color be damned. Would probably buy a purple and pink one if that was all that was available.

They're up on the G&R website...although there's at least one less than before ;)
I have a few as well but they are only available by phone, not on the eguns.com website since I only have a few left.

wow, they went fast.
Magpul sells direct, the rep claims they will start shipping in 3 weeks. However, she said you should check with magpul dealers, as Magpul will not start selling UBRs until dealer orders have been met.
Brownells has FDE in stock. I have not seen black there in a while so if they did they only had a few or something

Well, the FDE UBR arrived while I was at home eating lunch (El Agave fried chicken Chimichanga with extra sour cream, rice, re-fried beans, lettuce, and tomato - no guacamole). When I opened the box it contained the instructions and two plastic bags. In the large bag was the stock with cheek piece and what looks to be the receiver extension. The second, smaller bag looks like a receiver extension and an extra cheek piece receiver extension and some screws.
The instructions did not include an bill of items so I'm a bit confused as to whether or not I have everything I need to install this stock. Can anyone tell me if they received the same items with their UBRs?
Carlos,
I got the extra cheek piece and screws as well. Although I'm not sure exactly why they're included, either.

As best as I can tell, there is a slight cosmetic difference between these. But the dimensions seem to be the same. Also, has anyone been able to switch the QD sling thingy so that it's on the right side? I tried last night but was unsuccessful.s

I believe if you look at the extra cheek piece, one is wider than the other. Same length and heighth dimensions but one is slightly wider or more flared out.
I don't have a UBR (waiting for Foliage Green) but have had them in for resale and I looked in the box on one and wondered about the cheekpieces myself.

That makes sense. They looked so similar, I didn't compare them in any detail.
On an unrelated note...what the heck is wrong with this page? does it load about 5 screens "wide" for everyone else, like it does for me?

That's a result of the long-assed string Stickman posted above. It's some sort binary value that had no line-breaks so it forced the webpage to be pretty wide. Maybe he or a mod can edit that string to stop this? :D

Midway is now posting them as "Temporarily Unavailable - we are having temporary issues that prevent us from offering it for sale at this time....."

UPDATE......
Midway Cancel my backorder today. :(

Chad,
This was the first backorder that Midway has ever canceled on me in near 20 years. I called and asked why. Their answer was much like your statement above - - - They have no clue as to when Magpul will send them any UBR stocks. :(
I got the idea that Midway isn't at all happy with Magpul. Midway is being told the products are coming so they take backorders and then nothing (or very, very little) shows up.
A call to Brownells confirms that they are getting the same run around from Magpul.

I don't know about Midway but Brownells cannot complain. I have had UBRs on order since SHOT 2007 (reordered 2008 SHOT). I have received exactly 2 of my orders for UBR. One group of black in July and a group of FDE in Sept I think it was. Brownells has gotten a heck of a lot more shipments in of them when you look at the head's up that have been given here for IN STOCK notices at Brownells. They had FDE a few weeks ago and Black a week before that and also again a week or so ago.
I will say nothing bad about Magpul. They have treated me well even when lack of shipment of some items is frustrating. They are a small outfit and need to make sure they do not overproduce or waste their capital on stuff and they also want to have the best quality stuff so they do the best they can. They do have an overly aggressive schedule of new products they have announced compared to their manufacturing capability, it seems (no inside knowledge). And then this huge PMAG demand from the election has probably thrown their whole manufacturing schedule out of whack.

Magpul doesn't have to "worry about overproducing". That's just not the deal with the UBR's.
I don't know what happened, but it seems something has held up production on the UBR's. Could be wrong though.
I'm not complaining at all, as I really don't care anymore. I lost interest in them long ago.
I really don't know what's going on with Magpul.
Lots of people pissed off about the MASADA ordeal.
I still love PMAGs though.

I don't know about that. Magpul just shipped out a bunch of UBR's (we got 25 of them). So they are delivering.
Personally, I could care less if they ever make another UBR. Stocks are not what is going to be banned.

Hi Grant,
Well, I was actually wondering about the stocks.
I mean, I doubt a UBR stock ITSELF would be banned, but I always thought that the AR's with adjustable stocks would be banned, right? That was one of the "evil features" in the last AWB, right?
Was that the point you were trying to make?

They do not ban stock's they simply would tell you how the entire weapon could be configured. You will ALWAYS be able to buy stocks (no matter what is banned). You will NOT be able to always buy non LE marked mags if there is a ban.
The point I was trying to make was to leave Magpul alone about the stock thing as they have more important fish to fry. ;)

Well, so much for the magical unobtainium stock.
I was able to find a UBR at a "local" dealer 75 miles from me. I woke up at 6, hauled ass down there, showed up way, way too early, ate breakfast at the gas station, smoked a pack of cigarettes, and finally the shopkeepers showed up.
The dealer was kindly enough to install it for me, in what was near light speed.
Also managed to score 2 of the new P-Mags, with the bottom attachment for the covers. Very cool.
I've been scouring the web, far and wide for the UBR, and finally gave up, and figured I'd try and get a first run ACS.
I must say, the UBR is...F-in' RAD! Totally worth the wait, totally worth the money, and totally worth a 2+ hour drive time/road trip.
Go 'Pul!
I really like mine.
Magpul,
I only have a few slight observations (some which I may likely solve myself)
1. The screws for securing the door and cover..provide a second set that install flush with the doors removed. Not a big deal really...I used some Orings I had to keep junk from getting in there.
2. Small vile a blue loctite for the stock screw might help. I've made sure it was TIGHT before each range trip with the UBR and the screw has worked itself loose after both trips (250 rounds aprox each trip). just doing controlled pairs and hammers moving in/out/to/from concealment.
3. An insert to replace the sling loop insert would be nice, even as an add on piece. I will likely never use that sling loop since you included those kick ass sockets
4. The door, when installed, is a little hard to get open with gloves on..(mechanix gloves)...a larger pad surface on the latch might relieve this.
A little blue stuff and the third trip ended with no loose screw.
It is heavy-ish, but balances really well with a heavy barrel (middy) for me. The presets ROCK. #3 for shooting with movement, fully extended for prone/bench shooting.

How much better do you like it than the CTR? I am in the same boat. I've been thinking about dropping $250 on a UBR with Grant, or buying an ACS and spending that price difference on the Larue T-1 mount.
(Hehehe - either way, he gets the money...)
I had to wait for several weeks for a couple of UBRs but they came in! Much better than the SOPMD and the M4 they replaced.

I like it better than the CTR, depending on the application.
My blaster was extremely front heavy, and tthe UBR definitely balanced the weight out.
The storage compartment is awesome, and a very welcomed addition.
The preset feature is pure genius, since typically on most stocks I only use two settings, so the preset can let you dial in your maximum length.
The action of the stock's motion is blazing quick, and extremely ergonomic. You don't have to grab, squeeze, and pull. You can just hit the paddle and the stock will shoot out to your desired length. It's blazin' fast.
I'd had a Midwest Industries single-point sling mount that attached around the castle nut, that, despite torquing the living hell out of and red-loctit'ing, would almost never stay on. If I dropped the rifle free to transition to my secondary, the sling mount would wiggle back off the castle nut. I've gone through two of those mounts, and have had bad luck with both.
I knew the UBR would be a solid, intelligently thought-out and designed stock, but I was pleasantly surprised at how nice it really is.

TheLandlord:
Thanks very much for the analysis. I think I'm going with the UBR then. I have a similiar issue with a 6920 that has a RIS II rail. The weight is really far forward, especially with the X300 now. I have an SOPMOD on it, but I think I'll give the UBR a try.
I appreciate your time!

Who's got those new PMAGS in stock? Are they possibly the new style made to work with the SCAR, or is that a totally seperate new model (EMAG)??
Got a pic of them without the feed lip cover attached to the bottom, so the bottom of the mag can be seen?

I would love to get my hands on one! But they're no where to be found. Almost got one a little while ago but I was pleased with paying $350 for it.
A Foliage Green UBR would be bad ass, but I'd settle for any color I could get right now, FDE or Black.
