I couldn't believe it, but it's sadly true. A j-frame sized, chiappa style, 3 shot (yes, 3) .38 revolver being brought to market by Century Arms International.

I have no words to explain how stupid this is.

They are preparing for the next legislative sessions in NY and CT, LOL.

Worst BUG ever. Low cylinder gap to make fingers not work & 3 shots...awesome.

I guess I can understand the intention - making a revolver thin, J's are small but somewhat wide - but I wouldn't sacrifice capacity for what is nearly a non-issue in terms of concealment.

Another stupid idea from CF....

Ughhh... my head hurts from the stupidity. They should have make one capable of firing 410 gauge shot shells while they're at it. That way they can poach sales from the poorly informed who buy a Judge or Governor.

Other that having one more shot I don't see the advantage of this revolver over a derringer.

No doubt if they did the advertising departments would spin it as 9 projectiles (3x 00 pellets).

Well it makes more sense than the Heizer single shot .45 I saw in another magazine last week. Still pretty damn stupid, but three is better than one and likely cheaper too. 16 is better than both though. Will give them credit for doing something different though, even if it was pointless.

The shooter will be able to use a speed strip twice

Ding ding ding! We have a winner!

It's the backup gun for the guy that carries a Judge.

What about a .223 single-shot pistol?

It DOES come in .410, you'll be pleased to know.

Well on the up side, at least the guys running AR pistols have something to point to and go, "Hey, at least our barrel is longer than the length of the round we are shooting." I mean seriously, why!?!?!? Hell, since we already know that you are going to get the flash from hell out of that bastard, why not put a brake on it so you can deafen and blind whoever you are shooting at? At least the one in .45LC/,410 could be marketed to the crowd looking for a snake gun, that thing has literally no purpose that I can think of short of separating an idiot from his money. And with that in mind, anyone want to open up a shop to sell accessories for that thing? I am sure we could make money, and I don't think we'd have to make it that durable since I am pretty damn certain most owners wouldn't fire it more than 500 in their life time! :suicide2:

If this thing sells well I'm going to try to make an accessory rail for it, and a bayonet to go on the rail. Maybe make them for the Judge and Governor too.

Then I can retire a millionaire.

I also appears that they shortened the sight radius of a snub even more. If that is even possible.

be really surprised if they even manage to sell a few of these things.

Depending on price I'd buy one for the hell of it,no reason to be so serious with guns all the time.

I do wonder how a three shot cylinder spins though, may be lopsided as shit, maybe should have gone for four rounds.

In all seriousness I would love a .223 revolver

I'm trying to be open minded. I would like to try out the low bore axis, see how recoil is vs. a standard airweight .38. Also, might make sense as a "NY reload" to a better primary CCW gun. I'd never buy one, I must not be their target demographic.

I think Taurus actually made one. I want to say it was one of the chambering for the Ragging Bull at one point. No idea if they still do it, or even if they made all that many of them. But I know they offered it at one point.

..... Ragging Bull .......

I don't know if that is a typo or a very subtle ding, but it's well played either way.

Bottle necked cartridges and revolvers don't usually get along very well when pressures get high. So a .223 revolver is unlikely, it would be a temperamental beast.

The perfect name for this new gun would be the Gelded Steer.

Someone will buy it. There's a big market for odd semi-collectable off-beat guns.

I like the idea of a slim revolver, great reliability but easier to pocket than a j frame

Hmmm, I won't buy one because its not my cup of tea, but I am glad that shooters have more options.

Watch, it will have the best trigger pull on the market and we will all be debating its merits:
