View Full Version : How to add QD sockets to BCM stock?

Hey all,
I have a BCM 16" middy mod 3 and a Sig 516, both with stock collapsible stocks.
I'd like to add a sling to either with a QD at the stock. Short of spending cash that I don't have, is there something that I can add that will allow this?
I currently have a VCAS on the BCM with QD at front of rail, and the other end threaded through one of the slots on the stock. I'm thinking of a VTAC as my second sling, which may get put on either rifle depending on which sling I like better. So far both rifles are as they came out of the boxes, except for Comp M4s on the BCM and Eotech on the Sig. I'm not trying to pimp these out, even if I had the money and/or knowledge to do so. I'd like to spend the short funds that I have on training and ammo.

Thanks,
Oak

I don't answer your question but take a look at the Proctor sling. I may be an affordable option for you. GH

Both would be options

Mark,
The IWC piece looks like what I am hoping to find. The gearsector part states that it requires a hole ( other than a 1 1/4 sling slot ) in the stock which neither of mine have. Too bad that the IWC piece is out of stock at the moment. I'll keep my eye on it.

Thanks,
Oak

Try IWC's website.

You would have to drill a hole to use the gear sector mount modifying the stock.
http://www.impactweaponscomponents.com/product/qd-rotation-limited-buttstock-sling-mount-n-slot/ IWC direct has them in stock.

As suggested above, I sheepishly looked at the IWC website and now will go out to my truck for my credit card.
Thank you all for your help. I'm gaining all the time.
I've looked at all of the sling threads that I can find. Seems like a toss up between VCAS and VTAC. I've already got a VCAS so I'll order a VTAC when I've finished with the IWC order and have the luxury of swapping them out.
Win, Win.

Another option with multiple uses and no permanent modifications.

Another option from Damage Industries...

Or Blue Force Gear...

The Mossietactics part looks like a keeper also. I ordered the IWC piece last night, so I'll run that until and unless I find something I don't like about it and maybe even after that. I'm not going off to war and I definitely don't have more money than I know what to do with. While I appreciate quality, I also have to balance that with outbound cash flow.
Is the hole in the above Blue Force Gear wire loop a QD socket?

Thank you all for helping,
Oak

Thanks and I apologize.
I posted the question, then looked at the website on my phone after my computer was off. Didn't want to type with my thumbs last night.
