I am trying to decide on optics for my handi rifle. I am trying to choose a smaller optic as large scope look rediculous on this sucker, as well as I feel like its optic over kill for the purpose of the rifle. (hunting rifle for deer and critters shooting suppressed SS ammo. I am not wanting to spend too much money on the rifle as well as I do not feel like I need too much glass as I am thinking 100 yards will be my max shot with it.

I am currently debating on a primary arms micro (con 3moa dot), or bushnell banner 1.5-4.5 optic. Also wouldnt mind a fixed 2.5 power if I could find a cheap decent quality one.

Anyone have any suggestions?

I am having the same dilemma for mine. I want something with 4-5x magnification. Possibly with illumination.

I was thinking about a 4x 30mm tube leupold VX-R

scott, did you ever settle on an optic? I am still struggling. I tested some 147 grain sub loads and man its quite. Now I need some low power glass. I think the illumination would be for low light hunting.

Had the nef 300 and now model 7 Rem . Both are ok with leupold 2-7 however I wish there was a smaller compact model. The manufacturers seem to only make huge optics anymore. I had a bushnell 2-7 that was quite small but accidentally destroyed it and the gun .

I ended up putting a PrimaryArms 49.99 micro dot on my handi rifle. So far I have only shot it out to 17 yards but was all off hand work. Happy with the accuracy and happy with the red dot. Within 100 yards this out to be a pretty nice little rig.

I have dry fired it a lot and my trigger is a crisp 4#'s now. For a rifle that cost me 150 bucks I am really pleased with it.

I just mounted an old Leupold 2-7 and got a few rounds through it. Seems like it will be fine but it is an older model that has the bright mirror shiny black finish that looks odd on my rifle. Nothing a little flat black paint won't solve. :)

My addition. I feel like they are great value.

I use a Primary Arms Strikefire clone.. It works well, but I may switch to the micro..

Ive got the banner on mine. Enough magnification, and at 1.5x plenty fast. Im trying to find the best sight in distance for mpbr on coyotes now

Decent optic for the money. Given what the little gun costs, my uses for it, and so forth I've been very happy with my choice.

Sorry for dragging this back up a couple of weeks late.

My buddy put one of these on his 300 blkout duty rifle. So far it has been a pretty awesome scope.

Tag. This is an interesting rifle to set up.

I've got the rifle, but in .223. I just run a basic 3-9 burris vplex. does great within 300 yards. I would like the .300 but I could not justify yet another caliber gun to have around.

I have a Pride Fowler RR-Evolution BLK http://www.rapidreticle.com/evoBLK.php on my Ruger American Ranch in .300 Blackout and a friend of mine has one on his handi .300 blkout.

1-4 of your flavor. I like Vortex, with capped turrets.

I'm having this same dilema now. I would really like to add a set of durable irons, and was hoping I could get away with some BUIS on the rail, but I think it's too short (I have a thread about it in the optics forum, as I figured I'd get my answer quicker, re: sight radius). Anyway, I really like the idea of a small 2-3x prism sight on it, but no one seems to make one at 2x that'll mount low enough to work. Failing that, I'll probably go with a Leupold Ultralight 2.5x20. Ideally, Trijicon would make a 2x or 3x ACOG with the ring mount of the TA26, but I don't see that happening, nor could I handle spending a grand on the Handi.

I put a crappy apv scope on mine to see how accurate it was. Was able to shoot 5 shot groups about 1.5 Moa at 100 yards. My plan now is get one of those new swfa 1x4 scopes.

What scope/ring combos are all of you using to clear the hammer?

That's my main concern with mounting a typical scope.

For accuracy test it was a mueller avp with Burris xtr mwd rings. It's right but workable. I'll get a picture.

Thank you, I appreciate it. Does the scope weigh more than the rifle? :p

hah, that was just to see how accurate it was. i am planning to put on one of the new swfa 1x4 scopes on it.....as soon as it arrives.

then its time to see how far i can lob them out there........
