I bought a Sig 556 Classic back at the beginning of 2010. I really like the rifle (100% reliable) except that it's front heavy. So, I decided to place an order for a factory Sig 556 Classic SBR back in October, 2012. The price of $1240 + tax seemed very reasonable to me. Well, I almost gave up, but it finally arrived from the factory earlier this week.:D

It obviously feels much better balanced than its full sized brother. Interestingly, this new rifle came with a regular USGI aluminum magazine as opposed to the Sig plastic magazine that my full sized Classic came with. Now I just have to wait 9 months or so for the Form 4 to get approved. The gun shop that I purchased it from has a range, so I can shoot it whenever I want in the meantime.

05/15/14: Mailed off the Form 4 today.

The Form 4 arrived at my dealer on 12/26/14. That's seven months and eleven days door to door for the Form 4. I was able to pick up the rifle today. It was two years and two months from date of order until I was able to take it home. NFA stuff is definitely not for the impatient. It shoulders well and feels solid. I can't wait to shoot it.

You haven't shot it yet? In the OP you said you could fire it at the dealer's range.

Nice looking by the way. The proportions look just right.

No, I have not shot it yet. I've been very busy this year. I have not had a chance to shoot it until just recently. I figured that the approval was close, so I just decided to wait.

Here it is along with its big brother.

I'm really pleased to find out that the magazine release was redesigned to allow for the release of the magazine without shifting the hand.

I test fired it today for the first time. Ammo was 100rds of Federal XM193 55gr FMJBT. I used a Lancer, Magpul and two metal GI magazines. Function was 100% with the spent cases being tossed pretty far at about 1:30. I love the way this rifle handles. The new right side magazine release is a definite improvement. Now to determine what optic that I'm going to use.

That is so much nicer than the rifle they debuted a few years ago. I do prefer the Sig style lowers, but those are both very nice.
