View Full Version : Has anyone tried the BCM 7.62 Comp?
I'm thinking about getting the new BCM 7.62 comp for my 300BLK, which I'm sure like everything BCM puts out, it is a top quality piece. I know the 5.56 comps are great, but I haven't seen much talk of the 7.62 comp. I use it for hunting and plinking, 100% unsuppressed supers, so I'm not too worried about a can mount just yet.
It's only been out for a few months, but has anyone tried one?

I just bought one of these for my 300 BO build, which I just finished. I should be able to take it out to the range Friday or Saturday. I'll let you know how it works.
I asked the same question here:

I have since installed one on my M&P10 but I haven't shot it enough to have much of an opinion... which is why I didn't update my thread. At first blush, I didn't notice much of a difference between it & the OEM muzzle device. Muzzle control & felt recoil was roughly the same.
Eta: forgot to mention, the physical size of the 7.62 comp appears to be exactly that of the 5.56 Mod 1 version.

I used one on a build I did recently. But, I cannot comment as to how effective it was compared to others because I don't shoot 762 AR's frequently. The rifle seemed to shoot well and straight, but that's about all I can say.

I'm still pissed that you didn't let me in on the ammo/test portion of that gun.

I just shot my 300blk build with the BCM comp and it was very light recoiling, if I didn't know any better I'd have thought I was shooting 5.56. Buddy next to me was shooting a 7.62x39 AR with a large obnoxious break and that had a heavier recoil.
Disclaimer: I have not shot a .300 uncompensated so I cannot say how much the BCM helped.
Ammo used was Barnes black tips.
I'd definitely recommend the BCM comp.

I installed one on my SCAR 17 in place of the very effective yet very loud PWS.
A not as much recoil reduction as the PWS but makes my SCAR 17 much more enjoyable to shoot.
