For optimum performance on a mid length upper, is it still best to run a H buffer and an M16 bolt carrier? (Or is this strictly optimum for the carbine length gas system?)

I believe the recommended is car buffer with FA carrier for mid-length- I'm sure an H buffer wont hurt but it may slow down cyclic rate a touch-

My 16" Sabre midi seems to work best with a carbine buffer and a M16 carrier.
My 14.5" CMMG midi seems to work best with a H buffer and a M16 carrier.
I use M193 ammo.

I just ordered a BCM M16 carrier for my new Sabre 14.5" midi build today. I've got an H buffer in the gun now but will test it with both to see which one works best.

I've used extensively a middy with a standard, H, 9mm and rifle buffer with M16 BC, no issues with M855, M193, AE and PMC.

Obviously, the rifle is the best.

My 16" middy (H-buffer, M16 carrier) runs good on PMC (55gr, 2904fps), RG (62gr, 3026fps), and Georgia Arms (55gr, 2997fps).
