Any recommendations on connecting a bi-pod to my AR15 SP1? Located some that have the swivel attached to the hand guards, but mine hand guards break from side to side vs top to bottom. Searched for an attachment to the bayonet lug, without any success.

There's only that cheesy clamp on thing that squeezes on the barrel like pliers. I'd rather shoot off a pack. There's no good options for SP1 where you could really load the pod.

Something like this might give you a bi-pod mounting point.

You might try an Army Surplus Store that sells Military surplus gear. At one time (many many many) years ago,the Army made a scissor like clamp-on bi-pod for the M16A1's that clamped on the barrel or under the front sight. They did work, but I always thought the idea of loose metal on metal sucked and it did scratch the barrels. I wouldn't have one myself and would go with a rest, sandbag or pack.

Just throwing an idea at you to ponder. You could come up with something to "buffer" the metal on metal.

Yeah... That's the one I was talking about. The idea of a bipod directly attaching to a barrel makes me cringe.

Thanks for the replies, believe I will stay shooting off a rest.

Or this rail that attaches to the bayonet lug... Then add whatever bipod you like.
