1983 P220 operating Rod

I just replaced my operating rod with a new one from Sig

It sticks out 1/4" from the hole..........what did I do wrong?

It is a new factory p220 sig guide rod.

I had this same problem. The diameter of stem of the current roads are larger than the prior ones. Compare your old one, and the new one you purchased. I had to grind mine down with a dremel. Hope it helps.

I found my answer the European P220 has a different operating rod than the American version........shorter.

Contact Top Gun Supply. They know more about SIGs than the customer service reps at the factory. I cant keep track of all of the design changes that have taken place over the years.
