Hello all, today I picked up a new carry gun, a P2000SK 9mm. I really like this little pistol a lot. I'm struggling to find a good rear sight however. I have a 10-8 plain serrated on the back of my P30 mated to a green front night sight. I would like to recreate this on the P2000SK. I'm striking out on the usual sources.

Who makes this, stock height, for the P2000 / P2000SK? I'll be using a stock height Meprolight tru dot night sight on the front like on my P30.

Nobody. Trijicon HD's are your best bet for the P2000.

Ugh I hate 3 dot sights. I might just strip the dots from the existing rear sight then.

Even though the P-2000 is probably the best ccw pistol HK makes, it always been treated like a Red-Headed step child, as far as aftermarket sights go.. If you don't like 3-dots you can always put a trijicon front on, and just black out the dots on the stock rear, and end up with a 1dot set up..

I think that's exactly what I'm gonna do.

That's pretty much the case with all Hk's. I think it took almost 2 years for Hk's to get HD's.

Yeah, but look at how things are today...there's a number of options for the P-30,HK45, USP, and virtually nothing has changed for the p-2000.. I'll never understand that.. IMO, between a P-2000 and a P-30 as a CCW, the P-2000 wins all day long.

Yeah it's a shame because this is a great pistol.

Totally agree - best carry gun on the market today in my IMHO. I own two and am looking for another - all LEMs. Nice pic!!

I went with the V3 for this. I first bought a V1 LEM P30 and didn't like it so I swapped with a local guy for a V3. I guess I just like DA/SA HKs better.

My SKs are all the V2 with the "heavy" LEM which I prefer for carry purposes. I had a V1 P30 as well and it didn't really do anything for me so I sold it an bought the V3 non-safety P30 and never looked back. I am always amazed at how accurate the SKs are in spite of their small size. I run mepros on both of mine and wouldn't trade them though use 10-8 rears and ameriglo fronts on my glocks.

Yeah this is a very accurate pistol. I was shooting a milk jug from 15 yards or so behind my house with it. I was able to consistently hit the label with ease. I'm no pro shooter but this thing makes me look better, so does my P30.

I am still waiting for a P30SK too. If it becomes available I will be getting one.

I think striker-fired HK is next for me if I can get one into Kalifornia legally...

What's strange and a great about the SK is out of the half dozen Pseries Hk's I owned my SK has absolutely the smoothest trigger. Not a bit of grit, it was as smooth as it could get from the factory. I was amazed. Still am actually. Every time I buy a new Hk, I compare it to my SK's trigger.

Maybe switch to Trij HD sights? The rear dots are smaller. I like them very much.

Yes this trigger is fantastic. It's better than my P30. But that pistol is getting better with use.

I wound up blacking out the rear sight by scraping the paint out with an xacto knife and I got a Trijicon front sight at my local shop. They had it in stock by itself and it's 2013 production so it's fresh. I took it out and shot it and I'm happy with the sight picture and POA/POI was unchanged.

Only cost me $50 too.

I prefer Heinies too but just roll with MEPS on my SK. HDs look good but my MEPS have plenty of life left in them.

It isn't what you asked, but my solution for P2000SK sights was to paint the front hiviz yellow and the rears hivis orange. The yellow is brighter and really helps me follow the front sight and mutes the rears without making them disappear.

Best yet, like $10 at your local hobby store.

This is what I've wound up with. It works pretty good for me. Also a fun fact. This fits my RCS Phantom holster for a P30 like a glove. The front is a HK10F from Trijicon, that didn't come up with much in a search of Google though. And they only list sets on their website. The package said for HK P2000. It appears to be the same exact height, a 6.3mm came from the factory, and I'm pretty sure that's what also comes on the P30 stock.

So the P30 and the P2000 have the same dovetail cut for the front sight?

Yes. It's the back that's different. And next week I'll find out for sure if the P30 is the same height as what came off the SK.
