An interesting collection of photos posted on the Atlantic website: http://www.theatlantic.com/static/infocus/wwi/wwisea/

Number 19, showing several sailers lowering themselves into the sea past the screws of their sinking ship, has some pucker-factor to it. I wonder if the sailers in the photo were ever identified (or survived)?
