View Full Version : Ghost loading M4 any reliability issues.
I did a search with no results.
I just learned about ghost loading, I don't want to compromise reliability, as the shotgun is my home defense weapon.
I did a search and found on page 25

If it good enough for the USMC, the practice of carrier loading/ghost loading does not cause any negative issues.

I have never had a problem when I ghost load my M4. I had a similar concern and I have had no issues every time I try it. I also have the carrier comp extended mag tube, which is really nice btw.
Do you mean having 30+2??
They sell 40rd Mags you know...

I don't know if this is a serious post or not, but we are talking about the Benelli M4 12 gauge shotgun, which does not accept detachable magazines, although I wish it did. 40 rounds of 12 gauge would be heavy though.
"Carrier loading" is part of the manual for the M4 as issued to the USMC.
It does not cause reliability issues.

I often get jams ghost-loading Versa Max, which is pretty similar to M4.
Strangely enough, it only happens with 2.75" shells and never with 3".

Must be a versamax problem. Owned about half a dozen m4s. None had issue.

Thats a Versamax, not an M4.
My M4 has never had an issue with ghost-loading.
