Doc,
Are there any things at the NDIA conference that are noteworthy or particularly interesting?

Well, Aimpoint appears to have something you might find of interest. Direct PDF download link below:

Doc got some troll love on TOS when he posted this in the ammo forum.
Voodoo,
Are you referring to bARf15.com? If so, that doesn't surprise me. I saw a post that some assclown put there not too long ago saying the contractors in Iraq like Blackwater, etc...can use whatever weapons they want. I just laughed as he is obviously a dipstick who knows only what he has seen on the errornet and read in the gun rags.
Doc, your presentation is fantastic. It goes with out saying, you are a bad ass.
For those who want to go right to Doc's paper, here is the link- http://www.dtic.mil/ndia/2008Intl/Roberts.pdf
Thank you for taking the time to educate us with your posts.

Looks like a force multiplirer if there ever was one. Imagine how advancing technology will soon only require that you see your target and the sight does the rest on a small RDS! :D
The ballistic presentation is well done and a good read. Thanks for sharing.

That would be the one. And yes there are some sketchy Cats over there.

How was this received at the Symposium?
If the stocks of 5.56 are as low as everyone is acting like, would not now be the perfect time to change, so as to avoid having millions of rounds in reserves?

There were a lot of interesting things at NDIA, but the Power Point presentations don't convey the "action" very well...;)
Thanks for the info on the 6.8mm. Bigger bullets = bigger holes along with increased weight.
