AK charge handle

I am thinking of installing a LINCH on my rifle. While I was at the local gun shop I was discussing this with a buddy of mine. The topic of how the shells are deflected by it came up. From what I have been able to find on the internet from slow motion videos, that is at best a 50/50 occurrence. Does anyone have better information, perhaps some one who has cut off their charging handle? All I did was get on google and search "slow motion ak 47 firing" to get some information.
