While I was never an owner my brother let me use his while he was in Afghanistan and then while he rode our Xr650L down to the tip of South America and back. It's a dyna wide glide and it was every positive and negative stereotype that Harleys are but I didn't care because once I was on it I could have punched T. rex in the face and knocked him the fu&$ out. It was also incredibly easy to power slide around corners. Hehehehe.

I may ride a little fast and someday it may catch up and bite me in the ass but maybe not if I give it just a little more gas.

I used to ride the same way. While I always like Harleys, the classic style, sound etc., I only recently got one and can say I enjoy it more than any bike I've had before. Of course age probably has something to do with it too.

I was told Harley's are addictive and that I would eventually have more than one. I'm already thinking about either a Heritage or a Road King Classic in addition to the Fatboy.

They are 105% addictive. I had 3 at one point. An '01 Road King, '05 Softail Deluxe and this one. Other 2 are sold. This us the only one left.

I ride a 2013 Street Glide. I got hooked on the FLH when I went to Motor Officer School in 1997. Creek crossings on an Electra Glide are rough, but doable.

2003 Heritage. Lots of convertible hardware to go from sport to road configuration easily. It's been a great bike. Heritage Softails are all I've ever owned from HD. This one's my 3rd over 20 years.

A Heritage Softail is the epitome of an old school Harley. It is on my bucket list.

2013 Switchback (FLD). My wife and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary last Oct by getting 2 FLD's. She has a red one. This is my 1st HD and my 2nd cruiser. So far, I like it a lot.

The FLD is a great bike. I wish they would have been making them when I bought my current Dyna in 08. A lot of guys spent a lot of money making making their own Switchback in the years before they were available. Finding NOS or used FXDP floorboards to mount and then modding FLT hardbags or paying through the nose for used FXDP bags.
