View Full Version : Scope Mount does not fit and Appears Crimped
Hey all
My apologies if this is the incorrect place for this post (I know, it's a scope mount and not an AR, but it is technical)
Today I purchased a Nikon P-series scope mount (2 separate mounts) for a Nikon 223 scope I also purchased
My problem is the mounts will not slide onto the rail as they should (yes it is the correct picatinny mount for a spec rail)
Upon observation, both mounts appear crimped
I assume it is due to factory over tightening of the screws?? Just my assumption
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks all!!

Did you remove the mount cross screws?
Did you remove the mount cross screws?
Indeed I did
I would post up a picture of the mount but I'm not sure it will help much
Just imagine if the cross screws were were ridiculously over tightened and it crimped the rail mount in slightly
That's the problem
I can't slide it onto the rail whatsoever

The mounts don't have claws separate from the mount? They depend on the mount flexing when tightening?? I have never seen one but that's the way they look in the pictures. Is this what you are describing? Maybe a picture would help.

It is a one piece design, and the scope requires two of these
Both have the same issue
I was reading of other people having the same issue, it seems to be hit or miss, send it back for another or get a different mount.
Was it a package deal, mount and scope togather?

I expected as much
I just hate to run all the way back to Cabela's, but I guess it's necessary
It wasn't a package deal
I purchased them both at the same time though
