However, the AP notes, “officials have performed only about 13,600 reviews considered a result of the new law — about 7 percent of the estimated first year total.” The article goes on to state, “In total, there were about 311,000 background checks done during the first year of the expansion in Colorado, meaning the 13,600 checks between private sellers made up about 4 percent of the state total.”

Yea, about 4%, not 40% number that anyone with a brain knew was too high. That 13,600 number, that the progressives call a 'victory' is still even inflated since it contains some 'private' transfers at gun shows- which have been subject to paper work for years. The Dems here try to make it sound like they stopped 13,600 murders.

Interestingly, I haven't heard of many arrests for people for making false statements or trying to buy a gun when they are ineligible. How much you want to bet that the 13,600 number is full of clerical errors.

Facts never hindered a politician.

I still remember the 90% of illegal guns used in Mexico come from the US nonsense.

They did. We supplied the Mexican military with automatic weapons, handguns, and probably 10 million rds of ammo. They sold it the bad guys who also stole some of it too. The third world must see us as a bunch of suckers.

And you are expecting what results from this article? Your answer involves the nickname to Obama (aside from numb nuts).

Not quite. It was 90% of the firearms that could be traced came from the US, but the number of firearms that could be traced was and the number of guns that can be traced is only about 17% of the total number of US guns.

So 90% of the 17% of traceable guns (or 15% for sake of an easy number) come from the US.
