went ahead and picked up this unfired lil beauty! After changing the handguards, threadin the bbl, adding the FH, putting on a new adj stock, adding single point sling adapter and a tactical charging latch...shes ALMOST where she needs to be!

Looking good. By almost finished I guess you are going to add a back up sight and Larue FUG:)
Very nice.
M4C staff member M4arc has owned at least 5-6 6400C's and each was one perfect.
Where on earth did you find one?
No one on the planet was selling one of those when I was looking. (The past seven weeks.) I just gave up.
Damn.

I might add a new FS tower with bayo lug..havent decied yet, but i do need a set of BUI sites and a single point sling , maybe a few other lil upgrades to finish her out!
I found this one from a friend of mine that took it in on trade and he was gonna sell it so i traded him out of it. It was/is unfired, its in perfect condition. Spoke with COLT LE division before i traded and was advised to get it if i could b/c not alot where made and a few other reasons. This is my 3rd COLT and 4th AR and i couldnt be happier!
Did exactly the same to mine excpt the vertical grip a year ago ,and I used a M16 BCG . I like it better than my 6920. probably because the lower is marked M4 and looks kooler.
I owned one I de-bannified, excellent rifle, and another I had only briefly before I traded for something that was also nice. My main one had the Colt Defense rollmark as well.
Does Colt still produce these rifles now and then? I hear different stories on whether Colt has stopped production of the 6400 series since '04. OP's rifle sounds like it could have been in storage for a while.

According to Colt, they no longer make this line (6400) and havent for quite some time and made relatively low numbers when they did. Thats straight from Colts LE sales Div rep.
I'm quite sure they just stopped all the civilian line, not only the 6400, since they are busy with .mil contracts
I guess some of us are just lucky to find one.
Nice looking carbine.
It's not unfired... It was shot several times at the factory. ;)
