Suggestions for new trigger group ??

I am looking at replacing my stock trigger in my DPMS AP4. Would like something smoother and not as heavy in pull weight. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Also, what is the small bar that connects the screws that hold the trigger group in the body of the lower? I noticed this on the Larue Tactical screensaver. There are numerous pics of AR's that have this small bar with the screws that hold the trigger in place. Thanks in advance.

I recently built a lower with a DPMS trigger group. I hated the pull so I installed a JP Enterprises trigger and hammer spring replacemnt kit (~$10) and the difference is amazing.

Triggers should always line up with what the intended role is of the weapon. For instance, if I was building a "game gun" I would look at 3-4LBS single stage triggers (JP, Timney). If I was building a precision combat gun (Recce, SPR, etc) I would look at a quality 2 stage (Geissele, LMT, etc). For a general chrome lined weapon (M4, etc), a standard USGI combat trigger is fine.
