Up for sale is my Springfield Custom Carry 1911 Government model. This 1911 is gorgeous to the eyes and to shoot. Unfortunately I never have time to take her to the range anymore as she has been replaced as a carry piece years ago.
History: This little gem was originally built back in 1991 as factory Custom Carry. The original owner then sold it to a Marine in 2009 who sent it back to Springfield’s Custom shop to have some work done on it. He had this work done to it:
• Springfield 1911-A1 Custom Carry
• New Slide - No FCS
• Heinie Slant Pro/Straight Eight Rear Sight
• Matching Dovetail Front Sight
• Wilson BP Slide Stop
• Extended Mag Catch
• Ed Brown Memory Groove Grip Safety
• Ed Brown Tactical Thumb Safety
• C&S Tactical Hammer
• Guncrafter Industries Flat Lanyard Mainspring Housing (20 LPI to match front strap)
• VZ grips
• Black-T Finish - Complete
In 2010 he needed the money and sold it to my LGS where I bought it. I haven’t done anything to it since then except put 275 rounds down the tube and carried it for a couple weeks. I’ve since moved my carry pieces to the M&P line and this has been a safe queen for the last 4 years.
I have never had any problems or issues with this gun, and it gobbled up WWB, Ranger FMJ, Federal HST and Speer Gold Dot.
Fit: The slide lockup is TIGHT! You will need a tool to get the barrel turned and removed. There is absolutely no wobble or play at all in the slide to frame interaction. The trigger has a beautiful reset and really puts the M&P (with APEX) kit to shame.
Included: SA hard case, two Ed Brown magazines, one GI magazine, one 8 round Chip McCormick, and one 10 round Chip McCormick.
Price: I am asking $1,500 shipped to your local FFL.
Trades: I am not looking at any trades at the moment.
