Fox News is saying that it was forced to land by an Iranian jet after they disputed it's flight plan. No word if it is still there, or has been able to leave yet.

An aircraft chartered by coalition forces in Afghanistan, en route from Bagram air base to Dubai, landed Friday in Bandar Abbas, Iran, after Iranian officials questioned its flight plan, U.S. officials said.

The plane had been contacted by Iranian air traffic controllers, who instructed it to return to Afghanistan and file the correct plan. When the pilots informed the Iranians they did not have enough fuel to return to Bagram, they were asked to land.

One official said Iranian fighter jets had escorted the plane, which was carrying approximately 100 Americans and possibly a pair of Canadians, to the ground. Other officials denied that, and said the plane landed on its own. It was expected to resume its flight quickly.

Must be time for Obama to share some US technology with Iran. You know, for help with his "coalition" he will need to further screw things up in Syria.

More than likely it is a commercial flight that flies in and out of Bagram. I took one out of Kandahar when I went on leave. Beats taking a .Mil flight to Kuwait and then waiting on the freedom flight and so on. Fly out of Kandahar to Dubai then from Dubai to Dulles.

Yes a commercial contract. I don't guess the pilots thought about their payload being US military personnel...who were probably separated from their weapons, and undoubtedly their ammo before boarding. The Iranians had better tread very carefully here...

For a good time, watch 'Argo' right before you fly out.

I flew FlyDubai, Emirates, and Safi over Iran more times than I care to remember, I always wondered what would happen if there was a problem that required the plane to land.

The Pilot was a doofus who didn't update his flight plan, then had to land because he didn't have enough fuel to turn around and go back to Bagram.
