Not sure if this was covered before but hadn't cleaned my VP 9,for a couple weeks and noticed the red color on the recoil spring kinda wore onto the inside of the frame http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14/09/06/27b5d6354374b0f84ef7cff3c1aee987.jpg , not sure if its a concern just wanted to know if anyone else had similar issues, I use fire clean on it but don't clean after every shooting anyone else see this?

Haven't shot my VP9's yet, but my P30's do the same thing.

Mine did the same. Makes it a pain to clean until it is all gone but completely normal.

Does it affect functionality? Or is it nothing?

A small amount of paint particles aren't going to affect the function of your gun. Just wipe them out and continue on as normal.

That's the proprietary break-in compound. Don't clean it for 25000 rounds.:neo:

That's what I'm talking about -25k starter group.

That's odd, my P30 hit 1,000 rounds and there's no red paint.

Have you cleaned it yet?

Of course it's been cleaned. What does that have to do with anything?

Maybe some springs hold on to their paint better than others.

Because that's when mine started having painted come off I figured that could be the cause.

I have a USP compact (9MM) that just went to the range the other day, no paint deposit on that one either.

Interesting, my P30 had red paint on the recoil spring...but I don't recall seeing it anywhere but there

Maybe it's the fire clean. It's powerful enough to remove carbon fouling so that is probably why
