I just picked up a 1987 Beretta 84BB .380 (made in Italy) in a trade. I let go of my last Iver Johnson 1911. I have been wanting to get my hands on a Beretta 84 and the opportunity came up yesterday, so this morning we made the trade. This pistol is in pristine condition and came complete with two magazines, bore brush, polishing clothe, manual, and a challenge coin from its original owner who was in the USN Security Group Detachment in Seoul, Korea.

Now, here is the whole Beretta family.

Now, I need to add a 92A1 and an Italian INOX, maybe even a 96A1, a 84FS, and a Browning BDA .380. All in time though.

Neither. Still carry my Kimber Pro Carry II. Do you still have that old Wilson Combat?

Very nice. I also like the collection.

Very nice and a very respectable collection. Would offer that a 92SB should be considered for the collection as well. Would pair nicely 84.

Sadly, all of my 1911s are gone. She went 21,000 rounds for me though.

Very cool pistol. IIRC, this was one of the few mid size (think G19 size) high cap pistols of the early / mid 80's. I believe the wonder 9's of the era were all full sized pistols. Granted, this is a .380, but still a cool pistol. With the frame mounted safety, can this be carried cocked and locked? Wasn't this the Tony Montana pistol from Scarface?

Very nice find. Congrats!

It could be carried cocked and locked. It also have a half cock position as well. You can fire it DA from that position. It is a swet little pistol. I was glad I can across it. I saw one for sale at BudsGunShop for $699.99 and it was not as nice as mine.

My first handgun was a Browning BDA, basically a full slide 84, made for browning by Beretta. I loved that one but sold it back in 2000 for $400 and a S&W model 28 6".

I made out with that deal.

I would like to get a hold of an older BDA. They are fine little pistols.

Neat pistol!

A buddy of mine used to be carry one in the early 90's as his off-duty piece. I have always wanted to snag one of those. His was a great shooter, very accurate.

I really like my 84B, except that its kick is a little snappy. Maybe I should try different springs. Or maybe it's just because of the lightweight slide. Anybody know if the Browning counterpart with the heavier slide is any better in that respect?

Great pistol! I have an 87BB - just lkke yours, it's old school Beretta finish and pre-billboard lawyer speak on the slides.

I've always been tempted to grab a 84/85 like yours and come very close some times, but the 87 is cheap to shoot.
