Nice, how does it balance? Is it front heavy?

FYI, there is an SD-E for sale on EE.

Not front heavy at all. That light rail really makes it balance well.

Very nice pistol...I have been seriously contemplating something very similar. I understand the deal with the Sig Brace, but I'm still fuzzy on the whole vert grip and 26" deal. So a pistol over 26 total inches is some "other than" category? Does this require a fed stamp or approval of any sort?

I was gonna simply put the Magpul forward angled grip that is magically okay while a standard vertical grip is not, so can you please enlighten me on what you had to do to put the KMD grip on yours?

Thanks! And again, nice pistol...

Once over 26" it is no longer considered a pistol but a "firearm". I guess they consider it not concealable over 26".

No stamps or anything like that, just had to make sure that the end of my buffer tube to the end of the barrel threads was over 26"

It is still a pistol when the OAL is > 26". When you put the vertical grip on it, it is classified as a "firearm". Take the grip off, and it's a pistol again.

Ty for clarification

Some states have their own regulations about OAL and pistol definitions, but the Federal definitions are as stated.

Thanks. So if 26 inches, but less than 16 inch barrel, I can have a vert grip but no stock, and I can have a brace and shoulder the weapon.

Makes perfect sense to me...LOL! Dang NFA rules are FUBAR!

I built something similar and finished last week. (well, I still need to add a few things) I have the Syrac adj gas block on mine. I am waiting for the shockwave for the pistol brace though. A little lighter and they are local for me. I have a keymod gunfighter grip for it, but haven't gotten around to putting it on yet.

What buffer weight are you running?

Is the center of gravity under the EOTech?

Know your state laws before adding any accessories. I keep my 7.5" with brace clean (no AFG) and carry the ATF letter Sig provides with the brace.

Yes, I'll definitely check the TX laws..just trying to get federal laws square first.

Thanks much,

That is the exact same upper I am right now considering. Have you run it on a chrono yet? How is the accuracy.

If you were going to build another one knowing what you know now is there anything that you would change ?

I have my PSA 10.5" upper with a 9" Samson Evolution rail and my SB15 came in today. Hope to have my lower by the end of the week. I have an old VTAC sling lying around that I was going to put on it. I am leaning towards the AFG... I have never used the AFG-is it possible/plausible to mount the VTAC to the AFG in lieu of a QD point at the front of the rail and through the SB15 at the back end?

I like it but it's heavy. About 22 oz. I got it on sale for $550. I guess they were clearing it out for their M2. It is the SS-QD but still has inconel baffles. What I like most is the qd. Very easy to remove. Very solid lock.

For a QD at the back end I've seen the Blue Force Burnsed QD socket used, threaded through the strap.

Beautiful pistol. How does it shoot? What ammo have you tried with it? I really debated between a 10.5 and 11.5 and I eventually went with a 10.3" Daniel Defense. Still haven't had a chance to shoot my DD yet. Was thinking I should pickup a BCM also...
